It was last updated on 16\/04\/2010<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Now that I have a queue of posts scheduled I thought I could afford to start something new: a focus on a particular author. I decided to do Peter David. A caveat should be noted right here at the start: this will not cover David&#8217;s entire Star Trek bibliography, rather it will (somewhat unintentionally) cover only his works through the 1990s.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Books were chosen by the following criteria: (1) I had not already covered them on this site; (2) they are based on one of the television series (hence I am not covering any of his many novels set in the <em>New Frontier <\/em>series); (3) he must be the sole author. I wanted five books, and I wanted to represent at least each series once. I ended up choosing:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211; <em>The Siege<\/em> &#8211; which is only single-author\u00a0 <em>DS9 <\/em>novel (at this time)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211; <em>The Rift<\/em> &#8211; which is one of two single-author <em>TOS<\/em> novels. This won over the other (namely <em>The Captain&#8217;s Daughter<\/em>) because, quite frankly, the blurb sounded better.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211;<em> Imzadi<\/em> and <em>Imzadi II<\/em> &#8211; I was originally intending to dismiss the sequel, but it was written in 1999 and so would give my &#8220;marathon&#8221; a bit more breadth. <em>Double or Nothing<\/em> by David was also published in 1999, but was excluded for being book five of a series.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211; <em>Q-Squared<\/em> &#8211; this was chosen because it seemed right to have at least one of the Q novels (the other being <em>Q-in-Law<\/em>), and being published in 1994, it <em>somewhat<\/em> helped balance the distribution of years<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Reviews will be posted in chronological order of publishing, starting with <em>The Rift<\/em>.
