Shema Yisrael<\/em><\/p>\n It is the year 5777. There have been 3329 years since Exodus, 525 years since the Spanish expulsion, 79\u00a0 years since Kristallnacht. 69 years since Independence, 50 years since the unification of Jerusalem. To know oneself as Jew means knowing oneself as a witness to history.<\/p>\n The words of Shema Yisrael<\/em> were the words spoken at every morning and evening prayer, and when pressed against the door of death and destruction. They are an anthem of identity, but also a call of resilience no matter how far hope-forsaken.<\/p>\n Jewish history has walked a long road. The story is told in chapters: Biblical, prophetic, Talmudic, \u201cthe first\u201d, and us, \u201cthe last\u201d.<\/p>\n Amongst \u201cthe first\u201d was the leader Ramban, who explained a secret of the Shema:<\/p>\n In the Torah, two letters are written differently within the Shema. They spell the word Ed<\/em> \u201cwitness\u201d.<\/p>\n \n SHEMA YISRAEL HASHEM ELOKEINU HASHEM ECHAD It is the year 5777, it has been many years. The words of the Hatikva are only 140 years old, but their meaning transcends their iteration: So long as the heart of a Jew beats, it murmurs \u201cthe hope is not lost\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n Shema Yisrael: I shall witness history become great and good. I shall not lose hope. I am a stiff-necked people.<\/p>\n http:\/\/www.chabad.org\/library\/bible_cdo\/aid\/8245\/jewish\/Chapter-50.htm#v=24<\/a><\/p>\n http:\/\/www.chabad.org\/parshah\/torahreading_cdo\/aid\/2492702\/jewish\/Pekudei-Torah-Reading.htm<\/a><\/p>\n Pesach is a time of remembering the meaning of freedom: nothing mortal has the right to constrain me.<\/p>\n This year is the 3329th<\/sup> year of remembering freedom, which is a surreal experience in a world which has transformed the Jewish experience utterly within less than a century. The right of birthright is the right of self-defence and self-determination. It is the right of freedom. And yet our hope remains unfulfilled.<\/p>\n Perhaps this is the first century when we no longer wait on the world, but now the world waits on us. Perhaps thousands of years of fear has dulled our arrogance and determination against all odds. Nevertheless. Perhaps this year can be a beacon among the years: hope without flinching.<\/p>\n The Torah sings a song that narrates the common heritage of all life. \u201cIn the beginning\u201d we remember that this world was given to us; \u201cThese are the names of Israel who went into Egypt\u201d, we remember that this world imprisons us. \u201cThis is the blessing\u201d, we remember what we could dream, and how far we could yearn.<\/p>\n In the song called \u201cPekudei<\/em>\u201d, we remember that there is nothing greater than the achievements which become foundations for a shared future. That is to say, there is nothing greater than peace.<\/p>\n When the Israelites heard that slavery was not eternal, they were amazed, \u201cPakod Yifkod\u201d, we were remembered<\/em>, we were not forgotten.<\/p>\n In \u201cPekudei<\/em>\u201d we build the peace that we had never thought we would receive. On Pesach<\/em>, we remember receiving it.<\/p>\n The future is built together, but each one builds with those around him. Before Israel left Egypt they were told, \u201cIn order that restrictions (angel of death) pass-over you, unite in your own house [yourself with a sheep? Is this misleading to truncate?].\u201d The letters of sheep are ceves.<\/p>\n [??How to segue from the idea of otiyot<\/em> (even if not explained) of ceves<\/em>, into a mundane explanation of what needs to be done, and how will it be understood that a non-literal sheep can operate because the letters will be evoked]<\/span><\/p>\n It is the year 5777 and 3329 since we were first told that history had not forgotten us. It is the year 5777 and we can do something we were not asked to do: let us set light to a peace without our home, such that our collective flames will light a darkening world.<\/p>\n If each family arranges for whoever can come to their for a Passover meal, to attend then we will form networks of freedom. And on the second night, let as many different groups intertwine, so that this year we will remember that we were not afraid. Let us be whole, shalem<\/em>, let us us collect ourselves into ourself.<\/p>\n \n Shalom aleichem<\/em>. You complete me. Aleichem shalom<\/em>. [Work out]<\/span><\/p>\n We were not forgotten<\/em>, pakod yifkod, we will not forget<\/em>, ele pekudei<\/em>.<\/p>\n \n Half a shekel collected by groups of the seder donated as \u201chousehold\/seder*\u201d group to charity. Explain metaphysics of why it works, but need more emotional narrative too.<\/p>\n Maybe talk about \u201coptional donations\u201d, and how we can go beyond half-shekel towards actively involving ourself in building utopia\/freedom.<\/p>\n * thus even those who are too afraid to attend can join.<\/p>\n The third letter should be about “Determination of Shimshon”.<\/p>\n Nb. power of http:\/\/www.chabad.org\/parshah\/article_cdo\/aid\/635443\/jewish\/Raising-Funds-and-Children.htm<\/a><\/p>\n Pakod<\/em><\/p>\n 8II-10II-4I<\/p>\n 8II into space of 10II evokes 10II<\/p>\n In space of 10II is 4I<\/p>\n In summary: \u201cAn understanding which is done for a purpose\u201d which describes \u201cAn opportunity\u201d<\/p>\n Can look at\u00a0 bridge:<\/p>\n The understanding (8II) acts like a bow\/arrow, an inspiration to reach further (for the 10II). Vayifkod<\/p>\n An aesthetic which can be read as: <\/span>Choshen<\/em> is like an \u201canalysis based on deconstruction\u201d.<\/p>\n It\u2019s about \u201clooking at the different stones\u201d to see if they \u201clight up\u201d.<\/p>\n One learns to identify the judgments (which are normally allowed a hollow deputy-ship hollow because we do not know how to judge).<\/p>\n Aleph-daled-mem<\/em>.<\/p>\n Can read \u201cbridges\u201d in different ways. Can read \u201cdaled<\/em>\u201d as bridge in this way:<\/p>\n Gimmel, daled, hei.<\/em><\/p>\n Try and imagine:<\/p>\n Here the puberty is an act.<\/p>\n And the window is an ocean.<\/p>\n This can be thought of, as \u201cgrowing up\u201d, i.e. \u201cgrowing up is sometimes the right choice or part of a right choice\u201d.<\/p>\n 8II-9I-4I-5I<\/p>\n Can ask, in what way is the pei<\/em> a pei<\/em>?<\/p>\n Can think, it is the 8II, which looks upwards (into its own night sky*) to see that the \u201chouse of tzaddik\u201d is occupied by the stars of tet<\/em>, and into the \u201chouse of kuf<\/em>\u201d and see daled<\/em>, etc, but nb. When say \u201chouse of kuf<\/em>\u201d here, I mean the \u201cperspective of stars which looks like kuf<\/em>, from all of: Aleph<\/em>, and pei<\/em>, and tzaddik<\/em> \u2013 at the same time\u201d.<\/p>\n * along axis of \u201ctime\u201d of \u201cutterance of aleph-bet through a sequential dimension\u201d<\/p>\n This is like the snake\u2019s teacher, teacher river.<\/p>\n The snake asked the river, \u201cHow shall I find what I want?\u201d, and the river said, \u201cYou must jump like a waterfall from the top of a mountain into the ocean.\u201d<\/p>\n And the snake went away, but it could not fly from mountains to oceans. So it returned to the river.<\/p>\n The snake asked, \u201cHow do I fly?\u201d so that it could fly from the mountains and oceans.<\/p>\n The river said, \u201cKeep going forward. And if the land goes up, then go down, and if the land goes down, then keep going\u201d.<\/p>\n [This is why the \u201carcher\u201d of the snake is the wheel, because its mouth moves forward like a wheel, which is like a sine wave]\n But why does the snake go left and right, and not up and down?<\/p>\n [This is like how the kuf<\/em>-space is seen from both tzaddik<\/em> and pei<\/em> and is filled by daled<\/em>]\n The \u201carcher\u201d of the snake is the \u201cspirit\u201d which is the snake\u2019s hunger.<\/p>\n The archer wants to never be hungry again, and so points his arrow at every mouse, hoping that they will lead him to a city of mice where the snake can sleep.<\/p>\n The head of the archer is made of fire.<\/p>\n [This is like how the reish<\/em>-space is seen from all of kuf<\/em>, tzaddik<\/em>, and pei<\/em>, and is filled by hei<\/em>]\n The snakes head is burned by the sun when it looked in the sky for a city of mice.<\/p>\n Now every mouse that the snake finds, is cooked.<\/p>\n Now the snake dreams of a city of cooked mice.<\/p>\n (And this is why the fire snake was also the gold snake, and the sun snake, and this is like vav<\/em>, zayin<\/em>, and hei<\/em> uniting inside aleph<\/em>)<\/p>\n \u05d5\u05bc\u05d1\u05b8\u05e8\u05b6\u0594\u05e7\u05b6\u05ea is like hope.<\/p>\n It is like Sara\u2019s tent, making it a home for all people, and being Avram, and being made a partner to that.<\/p>\n It is like Moses standing outside Sara\u2019s tent, looking for any travellers to invite.<\/p>\n nd the reason Moses is inviting people to dine is because he\u2019s looking for God.<\/p>\n And this is like Moses inviting someone inside, and seeing that they are David.<\/p>\n And David is holding a mirror, which finally allows Moses to see his true beauty.<\/p>\n \u201cCarat hanefesh<\/em>\u201d, regarding \u201cexcommunication on Sabbath\u201d<\/p>\n One aspect of this law.<\/p>\n This technology requires first some \u201cinstalled\u201d level of \u201cworking Sabbath\u201d, i.e. practising engaging Sabbath on multiple fronts of existence.<\/p>\n Once that is in place, parts of the psycho-sphere which don\u2019t align will be \u201ccut off\u201d.<\/p>\n Another way to train \u201cchessed<\/em>\u201d, can take advantage of a homology to \u201ccheat\u201d. This works because ayin<\/em> looks like Aleph<\/em>, and ayin<\/em> is like zayin<\/em>, therefore by seeing aleph<\/em> as ayin<\/em>, evoke zayin<\/em>. This is a way seeing Torah in life increases chessed.<\/p>\n Gam zu<\/em> is like bravery compared to determination.<\/p>\n http:\/\/www.chabad.org\/parshah\/article_cdo\/aid\/1273892\/jewish\/The-Obligation-to-Remain-Beyond-Reproach.htm<\/a><\/p>\n Maarit ayin<\/em> can be thought of by way of milk\/meat, to understand the passing of kedusha<\/em> (like poor from rich) regarding the hierarchies and networks of salience (e.g. whether\/how to judge the significance of one ayin when others are possible).<\/p>\n \u05db\u05d3: \u05d5\u05b7\u05d9\u05bc\u05b7\u05bd\u05e2\u05b2\u05e9\u05c2\u05d5\u05bc\u0599 \u05e2\u05b7\u05dc\u05be\u05e9\u05c1\u05d5\u05bc\u05dc\u05b5\u05a3\u05d9 \u05d4\u05b7\u05de\u05bc\u05b0\u05e2\u05b4\u0594\u05d9\u05dc \u05e8\u05b4\u05de\u05bc\u05d5\u05b9\u05e0\u05b5\u0595\u05d9 \u05ea\u05bc\u05b0\u05db\u05b5\u05a5\u05dc\u05b6\u05ea \u05d5\u05b0\u05d0\u05b7\u05e8\u05b0\u05d2\u05bc\u05b8\u05de\u05b8\u0596\u05df \u05d5\u05b0\u05ea\u05d5\u05b9\u05dc\u05b7\u05a3\u05e2\u05b7\u05ea \u05e9\u05c1\u05b8\u05e0\u05b4\u0591\u05d9 \u05de\u05b8\u05e9\u05c1\u05b0\u05d6\u05b8\u05bd\u05e8<\/p>\n Va’ya’asu<\/em> “and they did”<\/p>\n This is the action part of the sentence, this is the “window” to see the parts of the sentence relating to the action according to its internal logic*.<\/p>\n Va’ya’asu\u00a0<\/em>can in one way** be installed by looking for opportunities (e.g. whilst daydreaming aka thinking about current paradigm of existence – this can be called daydreaming, because they are not real perspectives, only delusional limitations on our perspectives, e.g. when one does not implement a good idea at work because they need permission).<\/p>\n The opportunities to be looked for, are those that look peaceful and which make us feel more whole.<\/p>\n Ha’me’il<\/em> – “the coat”<\/p>\n This is like a reference on a map. It is a part of the “map of maps” and thus it can be seen, for example, in the sphere of human existence. It is the “part of our life” which:<\/p>\n Brings out a potential energy in order to navigate the accessibility of connecting things\/places. ***<\/p>\n “Rimonei<\/em>” – “the pomegranates” (with yud<\/em> suffix)<\/p>\n This is like the things in life we do to “find a way to do something”\u00a0where we were finding a way to bring out more potential – aka to do more, get more, bet more This can also be seen as pollen, insofar as it expands itself, but it is not like pollen insofar as pollen is less concerned with fidelity to the original message of the\u00a0organism.<\/p>\n Pollen is also different because the shape of a pollen is not itself a “power to bring out potential”. Whereas the pomegranate is a fruit that has found a way to be true to itself AND do so in a way that is bringing out new potential. This is like the seeds, but it is something that goes beyond a current plant and species. It is like a particular “becoming” which at the same time stumbles upon the form of “faithful becoming”.<\/p>\n What part of the dressmaking procedure is the “shoolei<\/em>” made, I am wondering how it relates to the letters. The snake wanted to shed its skin over the whole land, but it could never be everywhere.<\/p>\n This is how the snake became greater than the land.<\/p>\n \n This is like the Chochavim. Caf,\u00a0chaf,<\/em> bveit,<\/em> yud<\/em>, mem sofit<\/em>. This is like the atoms that were moulded into clay that was moulded into a jug that could carry water to the thirsty camels.<\/p>\n When we look at the stars, we see those letters of the Infinite.<\/p>\n Thus we see a story that can be made to inspire us.<\/p>\n \n This is like the wise woman who knows all the stories of the stars and tells it to her grandson.<\/p>\n When she tells the stories, she is following the trail of the story.<\/p>\n When the children see the black emu in the sky, they learn to follow the trail of the black emu.<\/p>\n \n When Avraham was shown the stars, he was told that his descendants would be more than the stars.<\/p>\n Every story could become any other story. Every story could be used as a stepping stone to a higher story. Nothing that could be imagined was impossible.<\/p>\n \n When the old spirits lived on islands, they would light fires every night.<\/p>\n Standing on the beach, they saw stars that lay along the horizon.<\/p>\n The wise man said those are other campfires, you must go there.<\/p>\n So the spirits built canoes and sailed every night, and this is how they came to Country.<\/p>\n \n The snake became a tree became a land became a milky way became a great and terrible fire.<\/p>\n Sara<\/em>\u2019s tent, Avraham<\/em> outside, meets David<\/em> carrying a mirror.<\/p>\n Sara<\/em> is like Malchut<\/em> in Atzilut<\/em>, and Avraham\u2019s<\/em> tent is her tent, thus he stands outside her Beit<\/em> (of Malchut<\/em> in\u00a0Atzilut<\/em>), thus when the desire to give is allowed to give, then beit<\/em> and gimmel<\/em> and daled<\/em> merge into Aleph<\/em> in Atzilut<\/em>, and this occurs through lamed<\/em> in Atzilut<\/em> which is why from the three fathers comes Yosef<\/em>, and Moses<\/em> carries the bones of Yosef<\/em>, which is why Yosef<\/em> and Yehuda\u2019s<\/em> trees merge which occurs through samech<\/em> and samech sofit<\/em>, which like the ladder, and this is a hint of the meaning of Kadosh<\/em>, which is the thing whose reasons are hidden in a world of further abstraction.*<\/p>\n The difficulty is why the land of Gerar was not conquered early, and this is why gimmel<\/em> merging with daled<\/em> is hard, and this requires the strength of Shimshon<\/em>. This is the greatness of Shimshon<\/em>, that his own house was broken, but this is also the challenge of Hei<\/em>, since the house must strengthen itself (and this is seen in Rivka\u2019s candle, which is the echo of the house) in order to allow Avraham\/Shimshon<\/em> to achieve his own individual centre-of-the\/his-universe acts.<\/p>\n But Adam<\/em> was not taught how to make fire until after Shabat<\/em>, which is like Malchut<\/em>, and this is why fire was not discovered until after Achronim<\/em>, and this is why so many years were required between the forefathers and their toldot<\/em>, & since there are laws of movement of objects between public\/private on Shabat<\/em>, this affects gimmel daled<\/em> (and this is seen through hei<\/em> and vav<\/em>, passing a basket through the window only occurs with specific laws). Once the fire is lit, then the generations can burn their letters together.<\/p>\n This is why our achievements are nothing, but this is also the mystery of the Mishkan<\/em> since we must build it ourselves, and this is another meaning of Naase<\/em> veNishma<\/em> since it was because Israel vouched to ensure their descendants would fulfil a promise, that they retroactively created their own Biblical existence.<\/p>\n This is why Israel<\/em> is like Yissaschar<\/em> since we bring shells to the mountains, which is like evolution bringing fossils to the mountain to make creation hidden. But in reverse.<\/p>\n
